Getting ready for summer with #MyHartstrings #cbias

Is it warming up where you are?  It has been warming up here for a few weeks now.  With spring break over and the temps slowly getting warmer and warmer, it can only mean one thing....

SUMMER is just around the corner!

We like to spend our summers at the lake or at the pool.  Last year we practically lived in our bathing suits!  Since we spent SO much time in our suits last year, they were looking a little warn by the end of summer.  Plus both girls have grown so much this year, they needed new suits.

I have been peeking at some suits on Hartstrings.com and decided to go ahead and get new suits!  We may be going to Houston soon so the girls will need something for that trip.  It was REALLY hard to decide on what suit to get the girls, they have such cute options.  Mads is old enough to pick for herself (somewhat) and MG really doesn't care as long as it includes pink.

I pulled up Hartstrings.com and let the girls have at it.  I did guide MG into the green and pink bathing suit but she was happy with it, she LOVES the flowers!  Mads first picked a bikini but I was not going to have that!  HA!  So she decided on a tankini.
The site is pretty easy to navigate but can run slow at times.  You will find little girls (toddler) sizes under the Hartstrings tab and the older girls under kcparker.  You can also use coupons, they announce them on twitter a lot (you can also find them on Facebook)!  I had a 40% off coupon to use and that ended up dropping my total to just under $50!  Just enter code FORTY at checkout.  While I was on the site I looked at a few dresses, the girls can never have too many dresses.  I fell head over heals for this cute ensemble...
Mads would look ADORABLE in this!  Plus it has that grown up look but is still girly.  I decided on the pink sandals for a little color POP.  I will probably be ordering this outfit soon.

It took about a week for my order to arrive, but I did not upgrade my shipping and kept the free shipping.  I was very impressed at how durable the suits seem to be.  Plus, the girls look SO stinking cute in them!  They had to try them on as soon as we got home from my moms this weekend.
(sorry this one is blurry, it was too cute not to share though)

Now we are all ready for summer!!!

Strawberries and Cream Instant Oatmeal | Recipe

I don't know about you but, we go through oatmeal like that is the only thing to eat on this planet!   Seriously a TON! My youngest would eat it for every meal and snack....every day....if I let her. Yes, the little packs can be cheap (if you can find a coupon and get them on sale) but it still adds up.  I used things I already had on hand so there was no extra cost to make this.  FREE is ALWAYS good!   I tried before to make little packets to keep on hand but that was a complete fail.  I have since reworked the recipe and am happy with the results.  I decided to just keep the oatmeal in a glass container this time and scoop out what we need, when we need it.  You can also make this into packets by just scooping the desired amount into zip-top bags. {Strawberries & Cream Instant Oatmeal}   12 Servings 6 Cups Quick Cook Oats 1 1/2 Cups Oat Powder 2 Cups Powdered Milk 1 - 1 1/2 Cup Sugar 1 Cup Freeze Dried Strawberries Directions f

Today I am posting at Mom It Forward!

Hey guys!  I have some EXCITING news!  Today I am posting over at Mom It Forward ! I have shared my Fiesta Chicken Tacos recipe, it is SO good!  Go check it out!  While you are there, check out all of my other posts I have shared there. The Fiesta Chicken Taco mix is GREAT on nachos as well!  I also made a quesadilla with some of the mix last night and it was AMAZING!  This is also a very frugal meal, the total cost for me was $2.67! Here is the breakdown: Leftover Chicken - Free Black Beans - $0.50 for 1 can Frozen Corn - $0.17 (it was on sale and I used coupons, it was $0.33/bag and I used half a bag) Tomatoes and Green Chilies - FREE (again, on sale and I had a coupon) Tortillas - $2 Total- $2.67!  Now, if you had to buy all of that at regular price it still equals out to a very frugal meal. Enjoy!
