While cleaning out my pantry......again.....last week I decided I needed something super cute to keep my super cute cupcake wrappers in. While reorganizing I emptied out some cute glass canisters that would be PERFECT to keep my liners in. But I didn't want just plain jars, that's no fun. So......off to Walmart I went.
I came across these Elmer's Painters Paint Markers and knew EXACTLY what I was going to do. I picked up a white with a "fine" point {it really isn't that fine of a tip but it got the job done}, I also picked up a set of pastels. I love that I can get individual markers, I also love that they are only $1.97!
I love these markers and have used them before on a few other projects so I knew they would be great for what I had in mind.
I used the canister I already had and some stencils I recently purchased. When working with glass make sure your stencils are a peel and stick or the paint will bleed. Also make sure to wipe your surface with alcohol to remove any residue or fingerprints.
Peel the stencil off the baking and place on your canister. I love the peel and stick because it allows you to reposition easily if you don't like the position.
Once you have the stencils where you want them, start painting! Allow to dry then remove carefully, repeat if desired in other locations on your canister.
I decided to cover my canister in cupcake cuteness, this entire process took about 20 minutes! AWESOME!
I also decided to decorate a special dish for the girls to use for special occasions. I read on a blog a few years ago about a family using a cute special dish for special occasions that the kids get to eat out of. Good grades, birthday, baptism, etc. I thought this was a GREAT idea and am excited to start this with my girls.
I LOVE using the Elmer's Painters Paint Markers because I do not get paint every where, there is no mess and no clean up. Such a time saver! Plus, they are easy for my girls to use. I also love that they are non-toxic and made in the USA!
