Family Game Night! #DipDipHooray!

Last Thursday was Mads first day of school. She was SO excited about the new year, but a little nervous. Mads LOVES school.

Since she loves it so much, I wanted to celebrate her first day of second grade with a FUN family game night. After we dropped her off, MG and I headed to Walmart to pick up all of our goodies.

I wanted to get a new game, MG picked out the Princess edition of Candy Land, of course.

I also needed to stock up on a few things. It had been such a crazy busy week leading up to the first day that I just wanted something quick and easy for dinner. I decided some Tyson Chicken Nuggets and Ore Ida French Fries would be great! I also needed some ketchup, so I picked up some Heinz Simply Ketchup.

Once Mads got home we started getting everything ready. The girls decided they wanted applesauce with their Nuggets and Fries and they also wanted corn.

I was not too hungry so this was my plate.

After a quick round of Candy Land we had some ice cream. Then it was on to round 2....and 3.....and 4! The girls had SUCH a great time!

I don't know about you but, we go through oatmeal like that is the only thing to eat on this planet! Seriously a TON! My youngest would eat it for every meal and snack....every day....if I let her. Yes, the little packs can be cheap (if you can find a coupon and get them on sale) but it still adds up. I used things I already had on hand so there was no extra cost to make this. FREE is ALWAYS good! I tried before to make little packets to keep on hand but that was a complete fail. I have since reworked the recipe and am happy with the results. I decided to just keep the oatmeal in a glass container this time and scoop out what we need, when we need it. Hey guys! I have some EXCITING news! Today I am posting over at Mom It Forward ! I have shared my Fiesta Chicken Tacos recipe, it is SO good! Go check it out! While you are there, check out all of my other posts I have shared there. The Fiesta Chicken Taco mix is GREAT on nachos as well! I also made a quesadilla with some of the mix last night and it was AMAZING! This is also a very frugal meal, the total cost for me was $2.67! Here is the breakdown: Leftover Chicken - Free Black Beans - $0.50 for 1 can Frozen Corn - $0.17 (it was on sale and I used coupons, it was $0.33/bag and I used half a bag) Tomatoes and Green Chilies - FREE (again, on sale and I had a coupon) Tortillas - $2 Total- $2.67! Now, if you had to buy all of that at regular price it still equals out to a very frugal meal. Enjoy!
