Midweek Menu Plan

I get asked ALL THE TIME what we have/had for various meals. So I thought I would start sharing our weekly menu. I know most people share on Monday but, I have a hard time doing a Monday Menu Plan because, well, we get paid in the middle of the week. Therefore, I shop in the middle of the week, which means I plan our menu in the middle of the week. The first thing I do when I am planning our menu is print off a few Menu Planning Printables from Mommy Hates Cooking . I like using her printable because she includes a space for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Snack, as well as an area for your Grocery List and Coupons. Mid-Week Menu Plan for 7/31-8/6 Wednesday 7/31 Breakfast: Cereal Lunch: Sandwiches Dinner: Italian Crockpot Chicken - Recipe coming soon! Thursday 8/1 Breakfast: Blueberry Muffins Lunch: Dino Nuggets Dinner: Chicken Spaghetti Friday 8/2 Breakfast: Homemade Poptarts - Recipe coming soon! Lunch: Leftover Chicken Spaghetti Dinner: Kids Choice

Food Post Challenge - Editing Pictures using Picasa

Photo editing. It can be SUCH a touchy subject. To edit or not. I am one that has no problem in touching up a photo. I look at it like makeup. Trust me, you would rather I put makeup on than go out shopping and look like Shrek. I kind of feel the same way with photo editing. But, just like makeup, you CAN over edit. Yep, I had a problem with adding all kinds of filters to my pictures. I thought my pics were the bomb dot com too! I even had a really good friend tell me once that I should stop with the dark edges. She was crazy! Right? I used Orton and Lomo for EVERY SINGLE PICTURE. I thought I was rocking it!   One day I decided that my pics actually weren't that awesome. That maybe my friend was right. Plus, around that same time, she hosted a one day blogging boot camp with a local photographer who talked about editing. I heard her and the light went off! I not only changed the way I edit, but also the way I shoot my pics. Like I have mentioned before, I now use n

Food Post Challenge - Setup

I get asked ALL THE TIME what my setup looks like well, today you get to see behind the scenes! I have a super small kitchen, I mean seriously small people! My kitchen is the one spot in my house that gets decent natural light. I use a little 2 foot area between my stove and my sink for all of my food photography. I don't have fancy lighting, I use the natural light from my kitchen window.   Since I have such a small area that I shoot from, my backdrops need to be small. I use scrapbook paper and placemats for the backdrop of all of my food photos. I do sometimes use black poster board but that is rare since it takes up so much room on its own. I also use a very small light reflector that I made using a small piece of foam board wrapped in foil. This works very well for me. This is what the behind the scenes looks like! I place the light reflector to the left of my backdrop, I use whatever I happen to have close to help hold it up. Nothing fancy here!  lol  I al

PowerUp your Smile with Philips Sonicare

As some of you probably know by now, I am SUPER scared of the dentist. I mean knock me out for a cleaning scared. Thank goodness I have always been really lucky with my teeth and hardly EVER had cavities growing up, I never needed braces and my teeth have always been pretty white. Then why am I so terrified of the dentist? Well, I had a REALLY bad experience when I was a kid and have been traumatized since. I try everything in my power to prolong the time between seeing the dentist. When I started having kids, everything went downhill as far as my teeth were concerned. As you can imagine, when I was told I had 7 cavities at my last check up in April, it was a bit of a shock! I cried. Yep, I totally did. After I had half of the cavities filled, I went in for a cleaning. The hygienist was SO nice and pointed out a few of her favorite products. She pointed out a few Sonicare items they had for sale in office but told me any electric toothbrush would do fine for my needs.

Top 3 Recipes from Week 15 of the Make Bake Create Party

You guys! I am so sorry! Life has been SO crazy lately! Why? Well, we are getting ready to put our house on the market. What happens when you have a 50 year old house and are wanting to sell it? You have a LOT to fix up! This week, we have been working on the bathroom. Don't worry, there will be a post soon taking you through our process. Right now, I am focusing on my top 3 picks from week 15 of the Make Bake Create party ! First up are these Skinny Key Lime Pie Pops from Keri at Shaken Together . One of my favorite flavors is Key Lime. My jaws clench just a bit just thinking about it. I am also constantly looking for healthy desserts and this is perfect! I can't wait to try these adorable pie pops! Next are these Malted Milk Cookies from Annette at Tips from a Typical Mom. I LOVE Whoppers. Seriously, it's bad. But, I didn't always like the malt flavor. It was not until a few years ago that all changed. Now, I enjoy a chocolate malt about once a
