#ad Top 3 Sausage Breakfast Ideas

As you all know, I am a HUGE Wright Brand Bacon fan. I don't think fan is strong enough to describe my love of Wright Brand. You can imagine how excited I was to find out that they now offer Sausage! As soon as I found out, ideas started popping in my head left and right on how to incorporate it into our breakfast routine. I knew I wanted to take it beyond just a side to waffles or pancakes.
Growing up, it was rare we had sausage gravy, we usually just had plain cream gravy made with bacon grease. Because of this, it took me a while to warm up to sausage gravy. Once I started making my own gravy, I preferred making it with sausage. Why? Well, because it helped hide the lumps. Yep. What good southern girl doesn't know how to make gravy? What good southern girl has two thumbs pointing to herself? This girl! I have gotten MUCH better over the years, but I still have room for improvement.

Anywho....

I am a slightly picky eater and if we have biscuits and gravy and eggs, I usually only eat one or the other. Why? I don't like my food touching. Man, you guys are learning so much about me today! HA! I thought putting the biscuits and gravy in these cute shooter glasses would be great to help with my food can't touch issues I have. It worked great and the girls thought it was really fun.
Next, I made these cute little Mini Sliders. I did cheat on the pancakes and bought frozen, pre-made. Some days you just can't do one more thing and that's ok! You can't see that I made the sausage into hearts, but I did. I am going to make these again for Valentine's day morning using homemade pancakes also made into hearts. The girls gobbled these up and thought they were super fun also.
My FAVORITE easy breakfast idea is to make Mini Breakfast Pizza. These can be frozen and re-heated for those mornings you are crunched for time. Just pop them into the oven for about 5-8 minutes, or the microwave for 1-2 minutes.

Mini Breakfast Pizza
Servings 2
Ingredients
1 English Muffin
1 Egg
1 Wright Brand Sausage Link
1-2 Tbs Shredded Cheese
Butter
Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Slice English Muffin in half and spread Butter over each half. Toast in oven for 5 mintues.
While English Muffin is toasting, cook Sausage Link according to package directions.
Remove English Muffin from oven and set aside.
Scramble Egg with Salt and Pepper*
Divide Scrambled Egg between the English Muffin halves, top with sliced Sausage Link and sprinkle with Shredded Cheese.
Bake 5-8 minutes, or until cheese has melted.
Serve Warm.
*To quickly scramble egg, whisk egg with salt and pepper and pour into microwave safe bowl. Microwave 2-3 minutes.
Wright Brand Sausage can be found at Sam's Club. Be sure to check out the demo's scheduled for February 6th and 7th!

Strawberries and Cream Instant Oatmeal | Recipe

I don't know about you but, we go through oatmeal like that is the only thing to eat on this planet!   Seriously a TON! My youngest would eat it for every meal and snack....every day....if I let her. Yes, the little packs can be cheap (if you can find a coupon and get them on sale) but it still adds up.  I used things I already had on hand so there was no extra cost to make this.  FREE is ALWAYS good!   I tried before to make little packets to keep on hand but that was a complete fail.  I have since reworked the recipe and am happy with the results.  I decided to just keep the oatmeal in a glass container this time and scoop out what we need, when we need it.  You can also make this into packets by just scooping the desired amount into zip-top bags. {Strawberries & Cream Instant Oatmeal}   12 Servings 6 Cups Quick Cook Oats 1 1/2 Cups Oat Powder 2 Cups Powdered Milk 1 - 1 1/2 Cup Sugar 1 Cup Freeze Dried Strawberries Directions f

Today I am posting at Mom It Forward!

Hey guys!  I have some EXCITING news!  Today I am posting over at Mom It Forward ! I have shared my Fiesta Chicken Tacos recipe, it is SO good!  Go check it out!  While you are there, check out all of my other posts I have shared there. The Fiesta Chicken Taco mix is GREAT on nachos as well!  I also made a quesadilla with some of the mix last night and it was AMAZING!  This is also a very frugal meal, the total cost for me was $2.67! Here is the breakdown: Leftover Chicken - Free Black Beans - $0.50 for 1 can Frozen Corn - $0.17 (it was on sale and I used coupons, it was $0.33/bag and I used half a bag) Tomatoes and Green Chilies - FREE (again, on sale and I had a coupon) Tortillas - $2 Total- $2.67!  Now, if you had to buy all of that at regular price it still equals out to a very frugal meal. Enjoy!
